A unique collection of a generation defining group

In 2019 it has been exactly 55 years that The Beatles visited Amsterdam. On the occasion of this anniversary the exhibition ‘Unseen Beatles’ will be on view in the 5&33 Gallery in art’otel amsterdam. Because the collection is for sale, it might be the last chance to admire these pictures.

This series of exclusive photographs of this legendary foursome, part of one of the largest private collections of The Beatles pictures, was made by Robert Whitaker between 1964 and 1966. This British pop photographer traveled for two years with the ‘Fab Four’ and was their private photographer during this time.

Whitaker was able to create exclusive portraits, for instance of John Lennon, his first wife Cynthia Powell and their son Julian as a toddler. In addition, he took a lot of portraits of the group in his own studio on Kings Road, London. Moreover, he was responsible for publicity material, like the famous ‘Butcher cover’ for the album ‘Yesterday and Today’.

The pictures can be seen in the 5&33 Gallery in art’otel amsterdam for six weeks from 10am – 10pm.
